Unexpected by Jenna Hartley

Alexis — I will not sleep with my daughter’s new nanny, no matter how hot he is. And boy is he. Preston Hawthorne looks like he’d be more at home on a Hollywood set than playing dress-up with my daughter. But he dotes on her, bringing a sense of calm and order to our home. And the way he looks at me, the way he makes me feel is…unexpected. As if I might spontaneously combust. I know better than to mix business with pleasure, and I certainly don’t fall for men who are nearly a decade younger than me. But the more time I spend with Preston, the more I’m tempted to break all my rules.

Preston — I need to start thinking more about my future and less about screwing my boss. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done. Especially when she’s doing yoga on the lawn and working ungodly hours to provide for her daughter. Not to mention, she’s successful, savvy, and the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen. But I’m determined to finally finish my degree, and that means I have to keep my job. A relationship with Alexis Black is the last thing I need, even if she’s the only thing I want.

Unexpected is a fresh take on the single-parent/nanny romance with a guaranteed HEA.

I started this book around 12NOON and by 1AM I had it finished. I thought the book was very well written. I’m not sure I have ever read a Jenna Hartley book before, but I won it in a Giveaway in Colleen Hoover’s facebook group for Fan Friday and I am glad I gave it a chance and sat down to read it! I didn’t read it straight through, I did take some breaks while reading it, so all in all it took me less than 13 hours to finish it.

I really enjoyed the characters. Sophia was absolutely adorable, however I’m sure my 6 year old doesn’t have quite the vocabulary of her.

I liked Alexis and Preston. Of course, when first starting the book (I had read nothing about it) I knew they would end up together at the end, but I had no ideas the struggles they would have to get their happy ever after!

I’d highly recommend reading this book! It was a great one and I will be checking out more from Jenna Hartley!

**I won an e-copy of this book in a giveaway on facebook. This review is written from the heart and with complete honesty.
