Creating a border around Text in Paint Shop Pro

First of all, I tweaked the header just a little. You might not be able to notice, but the words are clearer to read! Wanna know why?

I had the hardest time yesterday trying to figure out how to do this and I just gave up! I did what I wanted, what I thought looked alright, only to be told that the words, mainly Hooks and Books, was a little hard to read. After looking all day today and again tonight, I saw where that person was right.

I finally just said Screw it, I’m figuring this out. I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the white outline around the words. I feel like such a dummy now though.

Take a look at the 2 images below & see the difference in the text!

If you EVER plan to use paint shop pro 2019, remember this!

  • Text on white (or your color of choice)
  • CTRL+A+F to make it “floating”
  • Selections —> Modify —> Expand then choose how thick you want it to be!
  • You’ll have to either paste it into an empty image, OR paste it where you want it.

Now you won’t have to drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out 🙂

Let me know in the comments which one you think looks better!
